This lovely little number is built like an axe and sized like a knife, making it a compelling proposition for those looking to harvest timber for greenwood carving.
The blade if this hatchet is roughly 90mm long, 4mm thick at the rear and quite light due to it’s small size. Because of this thick build, it can be battoned to split timber, used like a sloyd to rough shapes into greenwood, or swung like the small hatchet that it is to take small branches off trees.
The blade is a laminated blue steel edge, making it appropriately tough for outdoor use. The lamination and excellent steel also make it easier to sharpen than a single steel axe, while making it capable of taking an excellent edge.
The shaped and burnt oak handle feels very nice in the hand, and it also comes with a vinyl sheath that can be attached to the belt, or simply used to protect this beautiful little tool when not in use.
